Title

“I Survived the Manilla Massacre”

Description

“I Survived the Manilla Massacre” is the personal account of Anna P. Maynilad, who was a seventeen during the Manilla Massacre (also known as the Battle of Manilla) in 1945. During the Manilla Massacre, as the United States began to retake Manilla, many Japanese soldiers began to rape, burn, and pillage the capital city. The process of liberating Filipinos from Japanese rule was very brutal for Filipino citizens as they were caught in the middle of the fighting between Fil-American and Japanese forces.
