Title

"Utah-Idaho Central Railroad Co., to be New Name for Electric Way," Logan Republican, 1917

Description

The Logan Republican reported on December 18, 1917 that the name of the Ogden, Logan and Idaho Railway Company would change as January 1, 1918 to the Utah-Idaho Central Railroad Company. It is reported that freight revenue losses due to the similarity of initials between the O.L.I. and O.S.L. are a main cause of the name change. They believed that changing the name would increase freight profits for the railroad. It is also noted that many of the railroad's assets and affiliated businesses are located in both Utah and Idaho, warranting the name change.
