Title

Letter from I.C.C. Regarding Abandonment of the U.I.C., June, 1947

Description

As the U.I.C. petitioned for bankruptcy, Bullen reached out to the Interstate Commerce Commission to support the protest of some Cache Valley citizens and companies against the petition. Bullen also asked the I.C.C. to consider the obligation of the Union Pacific to take over the lines if needed. Oliver E. Sweet responded on June 11, 1947 stating that the hearing for the petition of bankruptcy had no opposing voices and that the local courts would need to decide about the situation with the U.P.
