Animal Science Building (1917-)
Authorized by the State Legislature in 1917, and technically not part of the defense appropriation, the building first served as a convalescent hospital during the 1919 Influenza Pandemic. Opening for classes in 1920, the college creamery relocated to its basement, where Professor Gustav Wilster began perfecting the recipe for Aggie Ice Cream.
(Above) Student ROTC members gathered on the campus Quad. The Animal Science Building under construction in the background, 1918.
