Other related Instagram and Twitter accounts that play with constructions of masculinity include @DadBods and @FashionDads. @DadBods describes itself as “No Gym Just Dad Bods” and would be quite at home (sitting on the couch with a six-pack of beer) with Social Issues and Social Justice Candidate 1: #DancingMan. For Dads and their fans who aspire to even greater sartorial heights, #FashionDads was born: guys in baggy shorts and white sneakers, the fabled “Dad shoe.” They share their Papa Couture with adoring fans but not Tyra Banks. All of this to-do about men’s hair, bodies, and fashion raises the question: Is this the objectification of male bodies, male body positivity, or simply a less homophobic culture allowing men more play and creative license via fashion?
