Letter from Charles F. Lummis to Jack London, dated April 6, 1905

Description

Letter from Charles F. Lummis of the Southwest Society to Jack London, dated April 6, 1905
[Taken from carbon of original letter, at the Southwest Museum, Los Angeles)
Apr. 6th cl905]
Dear Mr. London:
We can get capitalists to contribute to this work and we are
getting them. Still I would a great deal sooner have people like you.
However, if you want to be stubborn I guess I shall have to let you. I
always wonder that people don't follow my example and be pliable.
Power to your elbow anyhow for it is only a question of time
when we shall have you with us.
As soon as you really realize what this movement means you
will come in without being forced it is one of the things that all
creeds, parties and previous conditions of servitude can agree on
just as soon as they grasp its full significance.
Sincerely yours,
(signed) Charles F, Lummis
