Description

Interview of Arthur Anderson on the United Order. Others Present: His wife and Beth James--Mr. Anderson, a native of Sanpete county and early day farmer in Emery county, has a keen recollection of settlements in eastern Utah and of early farming efforts and methods. He recounts the family's move from Sanpete to Emery and the difficulties of producing crops on the rather barren soil there. Mentions his corporation with and appreciation for the first USU county agricultural agent there, Robert H. Stewart, and the fact that many farmers failed to cooperate and adopt improved farming methods. Interviewer John Stewart. Took place at Mr. Anderson's home in Provo. 4.54 minutes.;
