Kwa Farm, Usambara Mountains, 1910s

The German East African government founded Kwai farm in 1896 as an experiment in tropical agriculture under Emil Eick's management. The government siezed approximately 1000 ha from local pastoralists in ordder to situate the farm. This image was edited for enhanced viewing purposes by Shay Larsen, USU Libraries Graphic Designer.
