Sufian Shekoloa at Hambalawei

This is a fine image of Mr. Shekoloa from sometime during the 1991 or 1992. Shekoloa assisted Conte during his dissertation research. He was also an invaluable help throughout the running of the Usambara Project in Mlalo. Mr. Shekoloa was a career educator in Mlalo and a well-known civic leader. Here, he stands along Hambalawei, one of the oldest surviving irrigation furrows in the Usambaras.
