The stories of 54 Latinx community members have been collected and preserved, including the voices of 9 Latinx students in a group interview at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah, in 2012.

During the interview process, we had many questions for the members of the Latinx community in Cache Valley, including: Where did you come from? How long have you been here? Why did you come? How did the dominant community accept you?

In March 2008, we were able to have 6 of the 45 interviews translated from Spanish to English. In October 2008, with generous support from the Marriner S. Eccles Foundation and the Utah State Historical Records Advisory Board (USHRAB), we were able to have 32 more interviews translated from Spanish to English. Later, the remaining 7 English-language transcripts were translated into Spanish.

Following transcription, we returned the transcripts and interviews to each informant for vetting. We made all of the suggested changes and returned the revised copy to each interviewee. The revised versions are the ones that we used in the physical collection Folk Collection 38 and in the Latinx Voices Digital Collection. The following interviews are only a sample of the entire project.
