Rodeos have played a large part in Utah culture since it's founding.  In the mid-19th century Utah was full of "cowboys" herding their cattle all over the state.  Since then, cowboys and rodeos have had more of a recreational purpose, drawing in people from all over the state to participate in the festivities as illustrated in these postcards.
