Mormon Battalion Monument

Mormon Battalion Monument

Made in 1927, this monument was made to remember the sacrifices made by 500 Mormon pioneer volunteers who joined the U.S. Army during the Mexican War. Statues on all sides of the monument show off the different periods of the Battalion's history including their enlistment, march, gold discovery in California, and their arrival back to Utah.
