This timeline features examples of food waste throughout the history of American culture. In order to present snap shots of food waste's evolution, we have integrated history, art, advertisements, photographs, and recipes, among others, to illustrate the transition of food waste from a time when it didn't exist, to our modern era in which almost half of all food produced is wasted.
