Marching Bands at Homecoming

Marching bands have also played an important role in Homecoming celebrations at USU. The most prominent is the Aggies Marching Band itself, which has performed at pre-grame, halftime, and sometimes post-game celebrations as well as in the big parade. Their halftime shows are perfected during rehearsals throughout the year.

Through the 1960s and 1970s, it was also common practice to invite high school marching bands from all over the western United States to participate in the parade. Bands from Wyoming, Idaho, and the entire state of Utah were invited to perform. So many of them accepted that USU Homecoming also became known as Band Day. Local high school bands still attend the parade today, creating another important connection between Cache Valley and Homecoming.[1]
